Guitars strike the right chord at specialist auction

Apr 09, 2017

Word continues to spread around the UK about our specialist auctions for Vinyl Records, Music Memorabilia & Guitars at Wessex Auction Rooms and Friday April 7th began with Director Martin Hughes speaking with Martin Roberts live on BBC Radio Wiltshire about some of the star vinyl Lots that were going under the hammer later that morning.

As auctioneer Tim Weeks took to the rostrum to get proceedings underway the auction room was packed to the rafters with music lovers... and all eyes were on Lot number one - a rare Gibson ES 330 USA Custom Shop electric guitar in Cherry Red. Bidding was fast and furious in the room and online, but the hammer finally came down to a telephone bidder at £2124 (inc premium) smashing the £1500 estimate out of the window.

Other highlights included a rare album from The Zombies - selling for £559.36 (inc premium), and a fine copy of The Beatles White Album achieving £318 (inc premium)

Vinyl Records and Guitars are already being consigned for our next specialist auction on July 21st. We invite entries Mon-Fri 9am to 5pm with no appointment necessary.
